1. Handling your personal information
When you enquire about a course, register for lessons or contact us, you may share your name, phone number, email address and information relevant to the request. We use this to respond, recommend suitable learning support, arrange services and provide course administration.
For a child’s programme enquiry, this may include their year level, subjects, syllabus, learning needs and optional school or results. Please share only information you are authorised to provide. The programme finder does not require children’s names, identity-document numbers or report-card uploads.
For careers applications, we collect the contact details, role and subject preferences, working arrangements, qualifications, experience, availability and optional CV link you choose to submit. We use these for recruitment review and follow-up. General enquiries and partnership requests are used to respond to the matter you raise.
When you browse, our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, request time and security signals to deliver and protect the website.
2. Website forms and the programme finder
Programme advice, adult-course enquiries, general enquiries and partnership forms prepare a message in your browser. The family finder can work with several children’s learning profiles and generate preliminary recommendations. Preparing a recommendation or message does not send those details to SLC.
These tools do not save your draft in browser storage or submit it to a website database. When you open WhatsApp and press Send, the details in your message are shared with SLC through WhatsApp for follow-up. WhatsApp is a separate service with its own privacy practices. Closing or refreshing the page may clear your draft.
The careers form prepares an application draft in your browser. It does not submit your details to a website database or send email automatically. Review the draft, then send it to hr@slc.asia through your email app or copy it into your email service. Your email service processes the message when you use it; SLC receives the application after you send it. Preparing a draft does not submit an application and is not a recruitment decision.
3. Consent and your choices
When you submit information for an enquiry, application or service, we use it for the purpose explained at that point and for related follow-up. Please obtain appropriate permission before providing another person’s information, including a child’s information.
If we wish to use your information for an additional purpose, such as optional course promotions or a newsletter, we will seek consent where required. You can withdraw consent for such communications through an available unsubscribe option or by contacting our Privacy Compliance Officer at hello@slc.asia.
You may also contact us to withdraw consent for other uses of your personal information. We will explain any effect this may have on providing the service you requested.
4. Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing. Information may be shared with authorised staff and service providers where needed for the purposes described in this policy, or where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.
For example, hosting, security, messaging and email providers process information to deliver their services. These are operational disclosures, not permission for those providers to market SLC’s enquiry data independently.
5. Third-party services
This website uses Cloudflare for hosting or security services and WhatsApp for visitor-sent enquiries. Typeface files are hosted with this website; Chinese text can use fonts installed on your device. Careers applications are sent by applicants through their own email service to hr@slc.asia.
Providers may process data outside Singapore. Where we arrange such transfers, we take steps to address applicable data-protection requirements. External services, including social media and maps opened from this site, have their own privacy policies; their independent activities are not controlled by SLC.
6. Security and retention
We take reasonable precautions to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. We limit access to authorised people who need the information for their work and use appropriate channels when sharing it.
We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or for applicable legal and business requirements. When it is no longer needed, we take steps to delete it, anonymise it or otherwise stop retaining it.
7. Cookies and tracking
The rebuilt website does not currently include Google Analytics, Facebook advertising pixels or retargeting pixels. The programme finder does not use browser storage to retain student profiles.
Hosting or security services may use cookies or similar technologies for essential protection and verification. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; restricting them may affect some services. If we introduce optional analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and provide appropriate information and choices.
8. Access, correction and other requests
If you would like to access, correct, amend or delete any personal information we have about you, register a complaint, or simply want more information, contact our Privacy Compliance Officer at hello@slc.asia.
We may ask for information to verify your identity and understand your request. We will consider requests under applicable data-protection requirements, including any lawful reasons for retaining particular records.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or information-handling practices change. Updates take effect when posted on this website. Material changes will be highlighted here where appropriate, so please review this page periodically.
